Sugar-Free Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix

It’s so easy to make your own sugar-free sweet and sour mix for cocktails!

Sugar-Free Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix

There is simply no comparison between store-bought bottled sweet and sour mix and fresh homemade. Plus, if you’re looking to cut a few calories out (or want/need to avoid sugar or the dreaded high fructose corn syrup for health reasons, like my wife Sue), you can easily employ a sugar substitute (I like Stevia these days, but anything that subs 1-for-1 with sugar will work).

So do yourself a favor, and give homemade a try just once, and I “garontee” you’ll be a convert. Just like me.

Sugar-Free Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix

Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (strained to remove pulp)
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (strained to remove pulp)
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup Stevia raw

Procedure
1. Heat Stevia and water in saucepan until it reaches a boil. Reduce heat and maintain a low boil until the liquid reduces to a light syrup consistency. Remove from heat.
2. Stir in lemon & lime juice & mix well. Cool before using.
3. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Use within a week or two.

Recipe can be easily scaled up as needed. Use in any cocktail calling for sweet and sour mix, and never look back!

Cheers!

    • No, sorry, I don’t. However, each 1 ounce serving of the sweet & sour mix contains 1/4 ounce lemon juice and 1/4 ounce lime juice, so if you have a carb counting app you could plug that in.
