Weyerbacher 17

A very special celebratory beer in the Belgian Saison (farmhouse ale) style from  Weyerbacher Brewery of Easton, PA.
Weyerbacher 17

Brewed in 2012 for Weyerbacher’s 17th anniversary, with orange peel, lemon peel, grapefruit peel and pink peppercorns. 10.5% ABV.

Pours a slightly hazy orange hue topped with a thick 1/4″ + of near-white foam.

Aromas of coriander, citrus peel, yeast, and burnt sugar.

Medium body, light carbonation.

Taste: Awesomely complex! Candyish citrus peel, lemon zest, orange blossom water, coriander, smoky yeast, and bready malt. Mild bittering. Hint of a late floral hop note. Tasty and very quaffable, yet potent. A good brew to sip and savor.

Pair with soft cheeses, croissants, or a salad of baby mixed greens with vinaigrette.
