Hi, I’m Bill, your genial host here at Potable Pastime. Thanks for stopping by!
I consider myself a beer geek and aficionado of fine spirits and cocktails as well as wine. I like to play bartender at home (but be warned – I’ve been told I make strong and sometimes tart drinks!). I’ve been brewing beers and meads for a number of years, and am especially fond of making American-style (west coast) IPAs and Bavarian-style wheat beers. Other styles I enjoy sampling include Belgian tripels, Czech pilsners, English porters, and Russian imperial stouts, but I like most all beer styles when flavorful and well-made.
As for spirits, I’m a fan of 100% agave tequila, gin, rum, single malt scotch, and bourbon.
And in the wine department, I tend to like big, dry reds a lot, but also appreciate a dry riesling at times.
I intend this to be a place where I can share my tasting notes and reviews of beers, spirits, and wines, as well as post cocktail recipes and a few of my better homebrew recipes. Hope you enjoy!
